Caravans at end of Birchanger Lane

Birchanger Parish Council is aware that several caravans are occupying a field at the M11 end of Birchanger Lane. This land forms part of the green belt and the parking of caravans is not permitted. We have referred the matter to Thom Goddard, our district councillor, to the planning and enforcement team at Uttlesford District Council, to the police and to our MP, Kemi Badenoch.

This land changed hands recently and the new owner submitted a planning application. The application was for Change of use of land to equestrian use. Erection of stables, creation of hardstanding and erection of fencing. New vehicular gated access off Birchanger Lane. at Land To The North Of Birchanger Lane Birchanger. Birchanger Parish Council objected to the proposal, fearing an erosion of the green belt, but Uttlesford approved the application on 6th July.

As a parish council there isn't much we can do except put pressure on Uttlesford District Council to immediately take all enforcement measures that are available to them. Birchanger residents can help by emailing or phoning enforcement at Uttlesford DC. The contact details are below.
