Road Junction plan resubmitted

Updated: Essex County Council has resubmitted its request for a certificate of lawful development of the roundabout at the M11 end of Birchanger Lane. It now shows the new piece of road allowing buses and, we hope, residents to access Dunmow Road, but there seems to be nothing in the application to confirm or deny that. However Essex Highways, at https://www.essexhighways.org/highway-schemes-and-developments/major-sch..., says

“A permanent spur road off Birchanger Lane for buses, taxis and emergency services direct access to Bishops Stortford and A120 West.  Local traffic will be allowed to use this upon opening, however, traffic will be monitored.  When local traffic starts to impact the signalisation effectiveness (reduction of A120/A1250 queuing) a decision will be taken whether to revert to bus, taxi and emergency vehicles only.  Birchanger traffic for Bishops Stortford would then be directed via the M11 junction 8 roundabout”.

The application is on the Uttlesford Planning portal with the reference UTT/18/2772/CLP.
